EC Sustainable – Proud Partner of the Love Food Hate Waste Program
The NSW EPA estimates that NSW households and businesses throw away 1.2 million tonnes of food organics each year. EC Sustainable research with Sustainability Victoria identified that two thirds of all food organics wasted by households was avoidable products such as unconsumed edible material, with only a third being unavoidable material such as peelings and skins.
This is why the NSW EPA has developed the ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ program (based on the successful UK Government’s program of the same name) in an attempt to reduce food waste and educate NSW households and businesses about the issue.
EC Sustainable is proud to be a Love Food Hate Waste Partner and is working to make a difference by raising awareness of the issue among its staff, clients and the community.
